Start With the Room You’ve Been Avoiding: How a Priority Clean Works
Most people who reach out to us about home cleaning in Atlanta have been thinking about it for a while, sometimes for months. The hesitation is rarely about whether they’d like help. It’s everything that comes before the help arrives: figuring out what to ask for, deciding how often, wondering whether a stranger will understand that the kitchen matters far more than the guest room, and committing to a schedule before you know whether you even like the people walking through your door.
That’s a lot of deciding for someone who is already tired of making decisions, so we made one piece of it simpler.
Three Hours, Your List
A priority clean is three hours with one of our cleaning technicians for $165. Before the visit, you tell us which areas matter most and in what order. There’s a space for this on our booking form, so you can write it the way you’d say it to a friend: kitchen first, then the primary bathroom, then the floors if there’s time.
Your technician works through the list in that order and gets as far as three hours allows. Nothing gets decided for you, and nothing at the top of your list gets passed over for something that happened to be easier to reach.
What Ends Up at the Top
We’ve seen a lot of these lists by now, and they look remarkably alike. Almost everyone puts the kitchen first. The primary bathroom usually comes second, followed by the kids’ bathroom and the floors.
It makes sense. Those are the rooms that get used the hardest and forgiven the least. The kitchen gets wiped down every night and still never feels finished. The primary bathroom is the one you keep meaning to get to on Saturday, and the kids’ bathroom is best not examined too closely. The floors are where the whole week shows up, especially in a house with a dog.
They’re also the rooms that change how the entire house feels once they’re done. You notice a clean kitchen every time you walk past it, in a way you never quite notice a freshly dusted guest room.
What Three Hours Can Do
This is the part that surprised our clients most. Many of them expected three hours to cover a corner of one room, and instead came home to a kitchen that felt reset, a bathroom they no longer had to think about, and floors they were happy to walk on barefoot.
We’ll be clear about the limits, too. Every home is different, and a house that has gone through a few busy months without a thorough cleaning will take longer than one that gets regular care. In a lived-in home, three hours won’t reach every room, and it isn’t meant to. The goal is to get the areas that bother you most looking and feeling good, in the order you chose. If there’s more on your list when time runs out, you can book a second priority clean to pick up where we left off or to take care of the rest of the house.
A Low-Stakes Way to Meet Us
There’s another reason we like the priority clean, and it has less to do with the cleaning itself. Letting someone into your home is personal. You want to know how they communicate, whether they’re careful with your things, and whether the house feels right after they’ve gone, and there’s no way to learn any of that from a website.
A priority clean lets you find out for the cost of a single visit, with no schedule or commitment attached. What clients tell us stays with them is the kindness and the communication: knowing when we’re arriving, what we got to, and what’s still left. They also tend to notice what they can’t smell. We use natural, non-toxic products without heavy fragrance, so the house smells clean rather than perfumed, which matters in homes with pets, small kids, or anyone sensitive to strong scents.
After that first visit, many clients told us they were already looking forward to having us back to keep going. A few decided they’d rather not return to managing it all themselves and moved to recurring service.
If You're Ready for More Than Three Hours
Some people start with a priority clean. Others already know they want the house cared for on a regular basis and would rather go straight there. Both are good ways to begin.
If you start with a priority clean and decide within two weeks that you’d like us back on a regular schedule, we’ll still begin recurring service with a full deep clean. A home builds back up quickly, and three hours only reaches part of it. We will, however, adjust your deep clean pricing to reflect the areas we’ve already taken care of, so the work you’ve paid for carries forward.
If recurring cleaning is what you’re after, October is a good month to start. Mention October10 when you sign up and you’ll get 10% off your first month of recurring service. That’s on top of the 20% off your initial deep clean that already comes with signing up for recurring, so you start from a clean baseline and pay less while you settle into a rhythm. Recurring service is contract-free, with weekly, biweekly, and monthly options.
The Clean Collective provides natural, non-toxic home cleaning for households in Brookhaven, Decatur, Avondale Estates, Grant Park, Morningside, and neighborhoods across Atlanta.
